Closed Hearing in Gary Michael Hilton Case--December, 2008

Florida--WCTV's and the Tallahassee Democrat's attorneys weren't allowed into a hearing today involving the Gary Michael Hilton murder case. The hearing was held this afternoon.

The judge is considering whether the media will have access to court documents involving the Hilton case. Both WCTV and the Tallahassee Democrat have asked for pretrial evidence to be released to the public.

Only the attorneys for Hilton and the State Attorney were allowed into today's hearing.
Hilton is accused of murdering Crawfordville woman, Cheryl Dunlap... and faces the death penalty if convicted.

Her body was discovered in the Apalachicola National Forest nearly a year ago.

...A hearing has been scheduled for three o'clock this afternoon December 12th when the judge is expected to make a decision about a motion for the continued closure of documents.

Circuit Judge Terry Lewis says the hearing will be closed to the media and the public.
